This policy explains what happens to your personal information when you use ianlittlejohn.com.

Who is responsible for your information

The data controller is Data Insight Training Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 10937726, registered office 30 Westgate, Otley, LS21 3AS.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration reference ZA749555.

If you just browse the site

This site does not ask you to create an account and does not set any cookies - not for advertising, and not for analytics. There are no forms on this site. Sign-up for the five-day challenge happens on a separate page hosted by Systeme.io, and the section below explains what happens if you use it. If you do not, nothing on this site collects personal information about you.

We do measure how the site is used, in two ways that do not identify you. Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs and produces aggregate traffic reports from them; these logs may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service that counts page views without cookies, without tracking you across sites, and without building any profile of you. Both are used only to understand which pages are useful and to operate and secure the service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how Cloudflare handles this.

This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. When the fonts load, your browser sends a request to Google's servers, which involves your IP address. Google's own privacy policy covers how Google handles that.

If you join the five-day challenge

The site links to a sign-up page for Spreadsheet to Answer, a five-day challenge. That page is hosted by Systeme.io, not on this site. It asks for your first name and email address. It also asks you to tick a box confirming you want the emails. Joining is your choice. The prompt-card deck is a free download on the /claude page. You do not have to give any details to get it.

We use your details for one purpose: to send you emails from Ian Littlejohn about analysing data with Claude. You get one lesson a day for the five days of the challenge. After that, we send at most one email a week, with a prompt card and a worked example, and the dates of live courses. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying to any email, or by writing to ian@ianlittlejohn.com. If you withdraw, we stop emailing you and keep only a record of your address on a suppression list, so that we do not email you again by mistake.

Systeme.io stores your details, sends the emails and hosts the challenge lessons for us. It acts as our processor, which means it handles your details only on our instructions. It also records when you signed up and your progress through the lessons, so we can see who has finished the challenge. The lesson videos are hosted by Vimeo and play inside the lesson pages. Because these pages are hosted by Systeme.io and Vimeo, their own cookie and privacy policies also apply there. We keep your details for as long as you stay on the list.

Who else handles your information

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. These service providers are involved in running this site:

• Netlify hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above.
• Cloudflare provides the cookieless web analytics that counts page views.
• Systeme.io hosts the challenge sign-up page and lessons, holds the email list and sends the emails, if you have joined the challenge. See Systeme.io's privacy policy.
• Vimeo hosts the challenge lesson videos.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Netlify's server logs are retained by Netlify under its own retention policy and are not copied or stored by us. Cloudflare Web Analytics holds only aggregate counts, with nothing that identifies you. If you join the challenge, we keep your details until you leave the list, and then only on the suppression list described above. Apart from that, we do not collect or store any personal information.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
• have inaccurate information corrected;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it;
• ask for your information in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent to the challenge and weekly emails at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email ian@ianlittlejohn.com. There is no charge and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113.

Links to other sites

The course buttons on this site link to Udemy, and the About page and the footer link to LinkedIn. Once you leave this site, those services' own privacy policies apply. Enrolments, payments and course activity all happen on Udemy, not here - this site never sees that information.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
